Our limits
We don't quote a job blind, and we won't guess a price over the phone for anything we haven't seen. A lot of the houses in this area went up between 1985 and 1991, and by now the original torsion springs and openers on those doors are past the cycle count they were rated for.
That's most of what we look at day to day. What we don't do is take on a custom architectural door sight unseen, promise a same-day install on a size we haven't measured, or price a full replacement without knowing the opening dimensions and whether the track run is standard or low-headroom.
If a door has been hit hard enough to bend the frame, that's often a carpentry problem before it's a garage door problem, and we'll tell you that instead of quoting a repair that won't hold.
We also won't quote work at a property outside the area we actually run trucks to. If you're not sure whether that's you, call and ask before you fill out a form - it saves both of us time.
Quick answers
A phone quote can only ever be a range, because the two things that change the price most - the exact spring size and whether the opener is original to the house - can't be read off a description.
What makes a quote accurate: the door's width and height, whether it's one piece or sectional, how old the opener is if there is one, and a photo of the springs if you can get one without opening the door yourself.
What we genuinely can't price without seeing it in person: any job where a panel is dented or split, any door where the track has come off the rollers, and anything where the previous repair looks like it was done with parts that don't match the door.
In a cold-moderate climate like this one, steel contracts enough overnight that a spring already near the end of its life can seize or snap on the first cold morning of the season, which is a common reason people call us for something that was fine the week before. If that's your situation, tell us when it happened - it changes what we bring on the truck.
Our team
This is a garage door repair and replacement company based in Sedona, at 160 Coffee Pot Dr, AZ 86336. We work on residential doors - springs, openers, tracks, panels, and cables - across an area that runs out to Cornville at ten miles, Munds Park at eleven, Lake Montezuma at fifteen, Clarkdale and Kachina Village at seventeen, Mountainaire at eighteen, and Chapel just two miles southeast of Sedona. That area covers roughly 8,775 households, most in homes built through the 1980s and into the early 1990s, which means a lot of original hardware that's simply aged out rather than failed from misuse. We don't have a company history to point you to and we're not going to invent one. What we can tell you is what we work on and where, so you can call knowing whether we're the right fit before you ask for a quote. Reach us at 19283841448.
Questions
Not a firm one. We can give you a range once we know the door size, opener age, and what's actually wrong, but the final number depends on what we find on site - especially spring size and whether the track or rollers are damaged too.
That depends on the job, and we're not going to state a number here that isn't confirmed for your specific request. Ask when you call, and we'll tell you upfront before you book anything.
A lot of houses in this area were built between 1985 and 1991, so original doors and openers are common. If yours hasn't been touched since, the spring is likely well past its rated cycle count, which is worth mentioning when you request a quote.
Yes, both are within our service area - Cornville about ten miles out and Munds Park about eleven. Chapel, just two miles southeast of Sedona, is also covered. If you're further out than that, call first to confirm.
